Our training courses are continually updated and adapted in order to provide the most up-to-date and relevant information in the field of substance use. We also deliver naloxone training both an awareness session and Training for Trainers (T4T). We offer a wide range of training including Basic Drug Awareness, Alcohol Awareness, Advanced Drug Awareness, Alcohol Related Brain Damage (ARBD), Cannabis, Current Drug Trends, Alcohol Brief Interventions (ABI), Relapse and Recovery, Harm Reduction, Substance Use and Mental Health and Female Drug Use. However, since the easing of restrictions we are happy to again offer face to face training, as well as virtual training. The team supports the streamlining and embedding of processes and the development of any new guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Local Operating Procedures (LOPs) and new information resources. Service support are also utilised by the training team and clinicians to help in the development of recording and reporting systems as well as the collation and analysing of data. The team provides support to each locality area within NHS Alcohol and Drug Services to complete improvement plans and gather evidence required to demonstrate implementation and effectiveness of learning. Audits measuring compliance are also required in relation to recommendations identified from adverse incidents. The team facilitate the compilation of audits including those determined by the organisation or directorate. The team support the implementation of evidence based standards to enable the consistent delivery of safe, accessible, high quality drug treatment across Ayrshire and Arran.
